December 2 2019: FERRER, Ryan

Ryan Ferrer

Ryan Ferrer, 35, of Wilmington, Delaware, died on November 26, 2019. He was born on December 30, 1983 in Manila, Philippines. He graduated from Howard High School in 2002 and studied finance at University of Delaware until 2006. He worked in various financial institutions including Bank of America and Barclays Bank US. At the time of his death, he was working at OneMain Financial in Wilmington, DE as a financial analytics lead.

Ryan lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling and made memories along the way. He proved he had Filipino blood in him every time he dove head on to food adventures. He was a foodie of the highest rank and appreciated all kinds of dishes, even the fatty, oil-soaked Filipino comfort foods, always accompanied by a large heap of rice. He enjoyed being in the kitchen, trying out new recipes, and sprinkling everything he served with a bit of Ryan’s life philosophy. He was a skillful poker player, a golfer, an avid reader, and a mic-hogging, music loving kind of guy. He was also never known to turn down pooch kisses – the more slobber the better. Kids enjoyed his company and he enjoyed theirs, but he particularly adored his two nephews who call him “Ninong”, the Tagalog word for godfather. He supported the boys’ sports and musical activities and generously gave them gifts, winning their hearts permanently. Lastly, a true Baltimorean at heart, he loved his Orioles and Ravens. He was a loyal fan and poured his emotions and passion into supporting his home teams.

Ryan is survived by his parents Rodolfo and Cristina Ferrer of Ellicott City, MD and his sister, Charisse Garcia of Reston, VA.
